Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about tipping and alerts on DonoChain.

Getting started
What is DonoChain?

DonoChain is a non-custodial crypto tipping and alerts platform for streamers. Viewers send you SOL or SOL/USDC tips that land directly in your wallet, and every tip fires a customizable on-stream alert - with the donor's message read aloud - plus an optional paid soundboard.

How does it work?

Create an account and add your Solana wallet address. Share your personal donochain.com/u/yourname tip page with viewers, and drop your overlay link into OBS.

When someone tips, the funds go straight to your wallet and an alert fires on your stream within seconds. Nothing is ever held by us.

How do I add alerts to my stream?

In your dashboard, open the Alerts tab and copy the OBS Browser Source (Overlay) link. In OBS, add a new Browser Source and paste it in. Keep that link private - don't show it on stream. Then build your tip tiers and sound effects.

Can I customize how my alerts look?

Yes. Per alert you can set the amount, image, and sound, plus the full look: background, border, text, and donor-name colors and opacity, border thickness, drop shadow, and a box-style preset (classic, minimal, solid, outline, or neon). You can also pick the text-to-speech voice (and its speed and pitch) that reads donor messages aloud, in Account Settings.

What are overlay widgets?

Extra OBS browser sources that update live: a donation goal bar, a recent-tips ticker, and a top-donors leaderboard. They're colour-customizable to match your overlay.

Payments & wallets
How much are the fees?

A flat 2% service charge, shown to the donor before they sign. It's charged on top, so you receive the full tip amount. No 2.9% + 30¢ processor cut, and no monthly cost.

Is DonoChain non-custodial? Do you hold my money?

Non-custodial, always. Every tip is a direct wallet-to-wallet transaction - we never hold, touch, or escrow your funds. The 2% fee goes to a separate platform wallet within the same transaction.

What can donors pay with?

SOL or SOL/USDC (USDC on the Solana network — not USDC from Ethereum, Base, etc.). You set your alert amounts in plain USD, and the app converts to crypto at the live price when a viewer tips.

What wallets can I use?

Any wallet that supports the Solana Wallet Standard works - including Phantom, Solflare, Backpack, Coinbase Wallet, OKX, and Glow. When you tip, if you have more than one installed you'll get to pick which to use.

A tip failed with a vague wallet error - why?

The most common cause is a payout wallet that has never held SOL. A Solana transfer can't create a brand-new wallet account with an amount below the network's rent-exempt minimum (~0.0009 SOL). Make sure your wallet has received SOL at least once.

Also double-check your wallet is on the correct network (mainnet) and try again - Solana occasionally needs a moment to confirm.

Accounts
What does a verified account do?

A verified account shows a green ✓ badge on your public tip page, and unlocks extra features like custom profile banners and uploading your own alert & soundboard audio (MP3, OGG, WAV, or M4A). Verification is granted by the DonoChain team.
